BPT Intern Program

Partnerships with Top College Programs

We currently work with the following colleges and universities to accept student interns:
-Sacramento State University
-University of the Pacific
-Fresno State University
-UCSF
-Sacramento City College
-Slippery Rock University (PA)

Students Gain Hands On, Practical Experience.

Work side-by-side with our physical therapists to learn how to perform routine physical therapy treatments according to patient treatment plans. Our physical therapy interns learn how to evaluate and treat patients with a wide variety of disabilities, various methods of therapeutic exercises & daily operational tasks.
BPT Interns gain a greater insight into physical therapy as a whole and have a greater understanding of the role of a fitness professional in an outpatient physical therapy setting.

Professional Mentorship

A skilled PT mentor is instrumental in helping students become more competent physical therapists. We help our interns to synthesize and think critically about complex therapy situations and guide them each step of the way in clinical decision making. We help students find opportunities that will enhance their overall learning experience and continue to be a resource for them as they begin their professional career.

My first clinical experience as a physical therapy student was with Arthur Baudendistel. It was also my first time visiting California and I was amazed by the beauty of the state. Baudendistel Physical Therapy is an outpatient private practice that offered excellent service to patients. The staff is helpful and engaged throughout the entire rehabilitation process.

Completing a clinical here was like being a part of the family. It was a positive and professional atmosphere. I worked with diverse patient populations with a variety of medical diagnoses. I got to learn hands on skills and create patient-therapist relationships.

Time not spent in the clinic was with Arthurs incredible family exploring Northern California landmarks. Even though this was my first clinical experience in DPT school, it was also one of my most memorable. Following this clinical, I felt prepared to go back to school and look forward to returning to California..

Thank you again! Stay Safe!

"I had a great time shadowing Arthur and Matt at Baudendistel Physical Therapy.  They were flexible, kind, and taught me a lot in a short amount of time.  It was great to get hands on experience working with patients and to learn from physical therapy students doing their clinicals. This experience definitely contributed to my acceptance at my number one physical therapy program."

“Baudendistel Physical Therapy is a cozy private physical therapy practice that was an ideal learning environment for my 6 weeks of outpatient clinical rotation experience. Their patient population was mostly adult, and we provided both land and aquatic therapy. I was able to evaluate and treat a variety of patients with diagnoses from LBP, to CRPS, to BPPV, to nerve palsy, and to many other orthopedic and neurological conditions. Arthur was my knowledgeable clinical instructor, who was patient and kind. He accepted and educated many students from all stages of their journey through the PT profession. He showed me how to asses patients efficiently, complete appropriate outcome measures, use other modalities for treatment, including: mechanical traction, iontophoresis, ESTEM & ultrasound. He partnered with massage therapists, who assisted with passive treatments of patients, allowing PT’s to utilize joint mobility, and therapeutic exercises more frequently. He generously shared his tips about appropriate documentation and billing. During our weekly meetings, he allowed me to practice my manual therapy skills on him and improve my techniques with constructive criticism. I am grateful to Arthur, Mathew, and their kind staff for helping me regain my confidence, and become an employed, licensed, DPT.”
